Lee Dixon produced a rare zinger while working the FA Cup semi-final between Manchester United and Coventry.

The Arsenal icon isn't exactly the most eloquent or quick-witted of co-commentators, but brutalised Casemiro with a fabulous one-liner after the United midfielder, who played 120 gruelling minutes at centre back, was left for dead by Haji Wright.

In the first half of extra time, the Sky Blues forward stood Casemiro up on the byline before zooming past him with a clever kick-and-run. Nothing came of it as Wright dribbled out of play thanks to a heavy touch seconds later, but the way he eviscerated his Brazilian counterpart didn't go unnoticed.

"Casemiro commits himself there and he's towing a caravan," Dixon quipped during a replay of the incident, and scores of impressed fans hopped straight into social media to salute him.

"Dixon just said Casemiro was towing a caravan and I think it might be the best bit of commentary ever," one X user wrote. A second said: "Casemiro towing a caravan, lovely stuff." A third added: "Clap clap clap Lee Dixon. Casemiro towing a caravan line was inspired."

A fourth commented: "Towing a caravan is crazy haha Casemiro needs to retire," and another agreed, writing: "Show's he's finished".

Speaking of 'finished', some believe United's performance at Wembley was the final nail in Erik ten Hag's coffin. The Red Devils let a 3-0 lead slip in the final 20 minutes of normal time, and Championship side Coventry were desperately unlucky to have a winning goal chalked off by VAR in the final moments of extra time.

United eventually triumphed on penalties but the manner of the win left a rather sour taste in the mouth, and rumours have been circling that both Ten Hag and the club are ready to part ways ever since.

Casemiro, 32, joined United from Real Madrid in 2022. He was initially something of a revelation, but much like Man United, the Brazilian has been well below par this season.
