Incredible Ipswich are reportedly keen to hijack John Lundstram's move to Turkish big-hitters Trabzonspor.

The Tractor Boys are having a party in Suffolk after the brilliant Kieran McKenna masterminded consecutive promotions on a shoestring budget. And now Lundstram reportedly fits the profile the Irishman wants to beef out a squad which cost a fraction of almost every other side in the Championship – never mind the richest league in the world.

But the fate of Lundstram isn't what Rangers fans are taking about when it comes to Ipswich. Ibrox supporters have been left dumbfounded to find out former loan star Sone Aluko is part of the squad which earned promotion to the Premier League. Yes, the 35-year-old has been limited to seven appearances but few can believe he's part of an unlikely story of winning against the odds.

There are other former familiar Ibrox faces vital to McKenna's squad, of course, with George Edmundson and Dominic Ball both previously spending time at Ibrox. And this unlikely band of heroes have cinch in their blood – former St Mirren keeper Vaclav Hladky is a hero and the likes of Harry Clarke and Wes Burns are vital contributors.

Lundstram – with no deal at Ibrox pending – will likely have a call to make over returning south or heading to Turkey for a new adventure, likely with current team-mate Borna Barisic.
