Robbie Crawford in Partick Thistle transfer return as Hull City set their sights on Hamilton starlet

Crawford will reject the chance to stay with Greenock Morton in order to sign a tw-year deal at Firhill.

Partick Thistle are set to bring Robbie Crawford back to Firhill.

The midfielder is about to quit Morton to return to Maryhill. The 29-year-old has been offered a new deal by ‘Ton boss Dougie Imrie but is set to turn that down and head back to the Jags on a two year deal. Crawford was previously at Thistle back in 2022 and boss Kris Doolan believes he will be an invaluable addition. Thistle are currently in the Premiership play-offs and kick-off their campaign against Airdrie on Tuesday night, with the winners to take on league runners up Raith Rovers.

Crawford has a wealth of experience in both the Premiership and the Championship via his spells with Ayr United, Livingston, Motherwell and Morton for the last two seasons. He had been an influential figure at Cappielow and his departure is a blow for Dougie Imrie’s side, who finished just outside the playoff spots in fifth place.

Meanwhile Hull City are considering a move for Hamilton youngster Lewis Latona. The English Championship ran the rule over the midfielder last week.

The 17-year-old had been scouted by the Tigers and had caught their eye. Accies allowed Latona to go down and train with their development squad. Latona came through the Accies youth ranks and is highly-rated. It remains to be seen if the two sides can thrash out a fee.

A number of other English clubs are looking at Latona and several of his Hamilton teammates. Accies’ Academy has seen them sell a number of top young players to England in recent seasons. Ryan One is at Sheffield United, Gabriel Forsyth is at Norwich City and Cormac Daly is at Nottingham Forest.
