Celtic are once again Scottish Premiership champions.
Brendan Rodgers and the players only needed a point against Kilmarnock and the title was heading to Parkhead for the 12th time in 13th seasons.
But instead, Celtic absolutely thumped Killie 5-0 at Rugby Park – a place that has proven to be problematic for them this season.
The damage was already done by Celtic at the weekend when they beat Rangers in the Glasgow derby – their third win over their bitter rivals this season.
When Ange Postecoglou departed in the summer after winning the Treble, many were left surprised when Brendan Rodgers, who had left Leicester City months earlier, decided to return.
Whilst the Bhoys beat Rangers at Ibrox pretty early on in the campaign and Rodgers saw off another manager in Michael Beale after his pre-season hype.
The team didn’t help itself and, at one point, they were losing at home to Hearts with chants of ‘sack the board’ from the crowd.
After the title was secured, Rodgers touched upon how there were ‘question marks over me’, such as ‘Was I good enough?’ Or ‘Can I manage this team and get them to play the level of football expected at Celtic?’
Celtic-daft Alan Brazil admitted he was one of those questioning the manager because, at one stage of the season, he felt that ‘something isn’t right’, as he told talkSPORT (16/05/24 at 8:50 am).
But, of course, those at Parkhead have let the football do the talking and showcased their dominance once more.
Brendan Rodgers guides Celtic to another Scottish Premiership title win
“Well done, Brendan,” responded Brazil to Rodgers claiming people were questioning him at one stage. “He was getting a little stick when he first went back and people were saying ‘what’s going on?’
“I remember thinking, Celtic had a funny little spell. I thought ‘something isn’t right’. But he has put it right and the players have responded brilliantly.
“Now it’s Hampden Park for the final. Celtic and Rangers. That’s the icing on the cake for Brendan if he wins that one.”

Celtic v Rangers Scottish Cup final
There is still one more big one left. Of course, there is the season finale to deal with at the weekend and the celebrations that come with that.
But then attention will turn to winning another trophy and ensuring Rangers end the season in the worst possible way.

You feel this game is bigger for Philippe Clement than Rodgers himself because the Rangers boss has yet to win a big game.
When Rodgers was in his first stint, many managers walked in and out of the Ibrox dugout as they couldn’t stop Celtic’s dominance.
You feel the same could happen again if Clement loses at Hampden because, not only is Rodgers a serial winner at Celtic, but he is also an expert at seeing off Rangers managers.
