Alexia Putellas has signed a new two-year contract with Barcelona, the club announced on Tuesday.
The two-time Ballon d'Or winner in 2021 and 2022 had a contract which was due to expire at the end of this season, but she has committed her future to the club until at least 2026.
Putellas also has the option to sign for a further year.
The 30-year-old reportedly had offers to play in the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL), but rejected the proposals.
Just before Euro 2022 she suffered an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury and missed three months of this season after undergoing keyhole surgery on her left knee in December.
The Spain World Cup winner in 2023 is Barcelona's top goalscorer with 189 goals and has won 29 major trophies at the club.
She was Barcelona's top goalscorer in the 2021 edition of UEFA Women's Champions League which they won for the first time. Putellas has also won eight Liga F titles.
Putellas has the potential to finish the season with 30 trophies if Barcelona can win the Champions League final against Lyon on May 25, which is live on TNT Sports and discovery+.
Putellas has played 424 games for Barcelona which means she has played the third most amount of appearances for the club, behind leader Melanie Serrano (517) and second-placed Mara Torrejon (431).
