Scott Brown says Celtic do their talking in trophies and not on TikTok.

And the former Parkhead hero is adamant a big-game winning mentality separates his old club from rivals Rangers. Celtic have made their latest on-pitch statements with the collection of a 13th major Double. Defeat of the Ibrox team in the Scottish Cup Final at Hampden backed up their success over the Light Blues in the Premiership title race.

Celtic delivered when the heat was on with their record over Rangers in the season reading four wins and one draw from five games. The champions are currently on a staggering run of success which has seen them land 19 of the last 24 domestic trophies with Brown was captain at the start of that sequence. Celtic have maintained a humble and hard working approach through their success and with no outlandish or brash statements.

Asked if his old club did their talking on the park, Brown stated: “There’s a lot of people talk in the press, talk on social media and do all their TikToks and YouTube stuff or whatever it is. The good thing about our club is that they do their talking on the park, and they continue to do that.

“It’s not about outside, it’s about the focus that is inside the football club and the mentality to keep going day to day. I’m delighted for the lads to continue winning games and continue winning trebles and doubles, it’s brilliant because Celtic fans expect it.”

Brown looks at the silver-laden trio of stalwarts Callum McGregor and James Forrest as well as boss Brendan Rodgers as proof of the mental ability to do it when it matters. He said: “Callum, James, Brendan. They know how to win, they know how to win trophies.

“Rangers step up on those big occasions and they can’t finish it off. For me, Callum, James and Brendan, they always get over the line. It’s just that winning mentality and that is the difference between the two clubs.”

Celtic displayed that trait again when defeating the Ibrox team at Hampden to win the Final through Adam Idah’s 90th minute winner. Brown said: “I think Celtic always have that belief, whether it goes to the 98th minute or whatever it is.

“As soon as Celtic scored the goal, it looked like Rangers had just collapsed, and they never had any belief that they could go and nick a goal back. Celtic re-energised and you felt they could keep the ball again.”
