‘He doesn’t look happy’…. Gabriel Agbonlahor is adamant rival player won’t join Arsenal

Arsenal are now in a much stronger position when it comes to securing top transfer deals.

It wasn’t so long ago that fans were watching Manchester United, then led by Sir Alex Ferguson, take Robin van Persie away from them.

That sale would epitomise Arsenal’s decline under the great Arsene Wenger, but they are no longer in that frame of mind, with the London club and Manchester United now worlds apart.

Instead, Arsenal are bringing in some of the best players from the Premier League, like they did with Declan Rice last summer for a club-record transfer.

The England midfielder made a huge difference and helped Arsenal push the Premier League title to the final day of the season, only for the all-dominant Manchester City to come out on top again.

But now some feel that the Gunners need to tune those very small details and they can end their wait to become champions of England again.

That talk of ‘do Arsenal need a striker or a goalscorer?’ has begun again and Manchester United’s star man, Marcus Rashford has been mentioned.

Whilst some are tipping the out-of-sorts Manchester United player to move to the Emirates, Gabby Agbonlahor says he simply can’t see it happening, and instead, he should move to PSG, as he told talkSPORT (06/06/24 at 6:30 am).

Agbonlahor feels Rashford, on his day, has ‘got it all’, but thinks he ‘doesn’t look happy’ and ‘isn’t enjoying his football’ at Old Trafford.

Marcus Rashford from Manchester United to Arsenal?

“With the right coach, Rashford has got it all,” said Agbonlahor. “He isn’t enjoying his football. He doesn’t look like he is happy to be at Manchester United, that’s the thing for me.

“Forget about the cup final, let’s look at the whole season. You can’t look at the cup final, the tears afterwards and think ‘okay, he’s sad to leave’. He doesn’t look happy at Manchester United. He hasn’t celebrated goals with fans. It looks like he is angry to be there. He needs to leave and I would prefer him to go to a PSG. Go and be the main man at PSG. He isn’t going to be a cheap signing. Manchester United are going to want a lot of money for Rashford. Wages as well.

“I don’t see Arsenal going for him and spending that money.”

Marcus Rashford at a crossroads at Manchester United

The issue for Rashford is that his club don’t seem to know where they are going and no one is the wiser as to whether Erik ten Hag will leave or not.

The 26-year-old was rightfully left out of Gareth Southgate’s England squad for Euro 2024 after scoring just seven goals this term.

Only 12 months ago, he was hitting 17 goals, but he has now proven the hot and cold nature of his play, which has become too much of a regular occurrence.

Rashford is at a crossroads in his career and it wouldn’t be a surprise if he did leave because it would probably be the best for his long-term future.
