Liverpool are reportedly interested in a transfer move for Hoffenheim striker Maximilian Beier this summer.

The 21-year-old was given his first taste of Bundesliga football this past season after spending the campaign before that at Hannover 96 in the tier below. Beier adapted well to the step up in class to score a respectable 16 goals in 33 appearances in the German top flight which is believed to have caught the attention of the Reds.

According to Sportbild, Liverpool are impressed with his versatility as Beier is able to play off both flanks as well as a No.9. He has also received comparisons to Roberto Firmino which won't have fallen on deaf ears as question marks remain over Darwin Nunez.

The Uruguayan scored two more goals than Beier this season but in 54 appearances. His lack of sharp finishing has led to some suggestions Arne Slot may look to replace the forward in the summer transfer window.

Meanwhile, according to Give Me Sport PSV Eindhoven winger Johan Bakayoko has reportedly been scouted by the Reds. The 21-year-old will be familiar to Slot having come up against him in the Netherlands while managing Feyenoord.

In 48 appearances this campaign, the Belgian international bagged 14 goals and as many assists. However, Liverpool are believed to be a long way off from securing a deal with Bundesliga duo Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig both monitoring him too.

While interest is thought to be high in Bakayoko, there is a hope that the draw of the Premier League would be enough to convince the forward to reject offers from Germany.
