FANS said “we love this passion” after spotting Wout Weghorst’s celebrations for his winning goal against Poland.

The former Manchester United loanee, 31, was a late sub in Holland’s 2-1 group stage win at Euro 2024.

And it sparked wild celebrations among the Dutch fans in the stands.

Weghorst toasted his goal alongside teammates with a roar.

However, what he did next blew viewers away.

As supporters continued to party in the stands, Weghorst faced the crowd before holding his arms out in the air.

The amazing moment was caught on camera.

Another declared: “Most efficient clutch footballer ever.”

    One noted: “He’s HIM.”

Another added: “Soaking up the love.”

Weghorst remains contracted to Burnley, despite not playing for the relegated side since 2022.

In that time, he’s enjoyed loans at Besiktas and Manchester United, scoring 11 goals in total.

And last term Weghorst was on loan with German outfit Hoffenheim, where he bagged seven goals in 30 matches.

But the hitman has been in sharp form for Holland in recent times.

He now has four goals in five games this year, taking his tally to seven over the past 18 months.

And with Holland hoping to reach the knockout stages of the Euros, there could be more strikes to come.

Speaking after his latest goal, Weghorst said: “I told my girlfriend this morning that i was going to do this.

“I said to her ‘I’m going to come on and score at 0-0 or 1-1, just before the end of the match.

“And if you don’t believe me, I can show you the message app on my phone.”

He added: “I am so happy, it’s indescribable, a bit of a dream.

“I know my role here and you have to fulfil that as best you can.

“To play in a final tournament is so special and winning like that was so good for all of us. Now we have to make sure it’s just the start.”

However, boss Ronald Koeman later admitted Weghorst was “upset” with his back-up role to first-choice striker Memphis Depay.

He explained: “When I spoke to Wout in the beginning to come in with the national team, I tried to explain to every individual player the possibilities for starting or coming on the pitch in the second half when we need a different play.

“He was a little bit upset and I think that is a good reaction. Wout is upset and doing a lot to get the opportunity to start. That is a great mentality from the player and always the last decision by the coach.

“His goal was cheered by the crowd that is obvious because he found the net which was decisive at this time. He has value to the team, he has a different way of behaving which is great and what we needed.

“It should have been 4-1 to us after an hour but we were not able to find the net. It was dangerous for us because the Polish squad was almost able to find the net but we were lucky and scored the second goal.”
