Thomas Frank warned England to expect a Denmark side fuelled by injustice from their last meeting.

That was the summer of 2021, the semi-final of the Euros at Wembley when the game was settled by an extra-time winner by Harry Kane, converting the rebound from a penalty contentiously awarded for a foul on Raheem Sterling.

'In Denmark, they will definitely remember that semi-final,' said Bees boss Frank. 'And the penalty. Or the foul on Sterling for the penalty. Borderline, let's say it that way.

'But of course England are the favourites. They are one of the favourites for the Euros and they have a very good squad. I think they have a very good chance to win it.'

Frank, who is doing punditry work for the BBC during Euro 2024, has four of his Brentford players - Christian Norgaard, Mikkel Damsgaard, Mathias Jensen and Zanka - in Kasper Hjulmand's squad.

Christian Eriksen, who joined Manchester United from Brentford where he returned to football after his cardiac arrest, is another, and marked his returned to the Euros with a goal in a 1-1 draw against Slovenia on Sunday.

In total 11 of the Danish squad are based in English football and others are familiar, such as Kasper Schmiechel and Andreas Christensen.

'I am Danish and always love the national team,' said Frank. 'I will always support Denmark of course but when you've lived here for seven years you get the English culture more under your skin. I understand that national identity.

'It's big in Denmark and it's big here. England is definitely my second team I hope they will win the Euros if Denmark don't. I know it would mean the world to everyone here.'
