LIAM HENDERSON could be set to move to his sixth Italian club with Sampdoria boss Andrea Pirlo interested in signing the former Celtic and Hibs midfielder.
The 28-year-old initially moved to Italy in 2018 with Bari in Serie B and switched to Verona when Bari went bankrupt.
He became the first Scot to play in a Serie A match since Graeme Souness in 1986 when he featured for them in August 2019.
A year later he joined Empoli on loan before completing a permanent move to Lecce. However, he returned to Empoli after a year.
Henderson spent this season on loan at Palermo, but missed out on promotion and has returned to Empoli again.
Now Sampdoria - who also lost out in the promotion play-offs, have made a move to sign Henderson, who helped Hibs win the 2016 Scottish Cup.
