‘Where he belongs’ – Peter Schmeichel names the transfer he wants to see son Kasper make

Peter Schmeichel has admitted that he'd love to see his son Kasper return to the Premier League.
Denmark's number one spent the majority of his playing career in England, including winning the title during his 11 years with Leicester City, before he left in 2022.
After a year with Nice, Schmeichel now plays for Anderlecht who finished as runners up in the Belgian Pro League.
He may now be 37, but Schmeichel is showing little sign of slowing down and speaking on talkSPORT his father revealed his hopes for his son.
Speaking on White and Jordan, the Man United legend said: “I really want to see him back in the Premier League. I think that’s where he belongs.
“Let’s hope these Euros remind people of him because I’d love to see him back there.
“Even though you try to put some distance between you and football emotionally, I still want him in there because I’m so used to that.”
On the international scene, Schmeichel is very much Denmark's number one having surpassed the 100-cap mark in the build-up to Euro 2024.
With Denmark hoping to advance into the latter stages of the tournament, Peter said of Kasper: "I’m so proud.
“It’s so weird because when you retire from football you want to put some distance between you and the game emotionally – I’ve never had that chance!
“Every time he’s playing or Denmark are playing there’s this element of emotion in there, but I’m really, really proud of him.
“He was in the team of the year in Belgium and came second in the player of the year and he’s in great, great form and enjoying his football."
