Superstitious football legend Harry Redknapp revealed he once wore the same 'lucky' underpants for 11 games on the trot to try and preserve his Bournemouth team's long winning streak

Footie legend Harry Redknapp wore the same lucky undies for 11 games on the trot.

The superstitious gaffer insisted on wearing “exactly” the same clobber after a win or draw.

And Harry, 73, said it wasn’t just important to wear the same suit, shirt and tie – but also the same pants and socks. He was worried that if he changed his clothes, he’d bring about a streak of bad luck on the pitch.

The former manager said: “When we won the league with Bournemouth in 1987, we had a long winning streak from Christmas.

“I wore the same suit, shirt and pants for 20-odd games unbeaten (10 games first and then 11 games).”

Fans can still find some of the games on YouTube – and see he was wearing the same gear each time.

Harry has teamed up with sports entertainment firm Sorare to challenge punters to “do a better job” during the Euros in free-to-play game Sorare Rivals.
