Liverpool fans have joked that they might have found a future superstar after viewing a wholesome video.

The Reds shared a video on their official Instagram page which included Luis Diaz, Wataru Endo and Kostas Tsimikas playing a game of 'crossbar challenge' with some children in the club's academy.

The group, who were from Liverpool' under-9s team, were tasked with hitting the crossbar from the edge of the penalty area - a task that might have been harder for many with three Premier League stars watching on.

But in the clip, Tsimikas takes it upon himself to not only support the youngsters from the sideline, but also offer advice.

To one child he said: "Take a big breath. You have to be focused to kick the ball - you got this."

For one kid, the task was almost too easy as they performed a couple of kick-ups before smashing a volley against the crossbar, leading Tsimikas, Diaz and Endo to run after him and pick him up to celebrate together.

But while the video was designed to be wholesome content for the club, it left fans joking about what the future might hold for their team.

One fan wrote: "Two or three kids in this team might be the future legend."

Another said: "The sheer joy of Kostas, Diaz and Endo when the lad hit the crossbar was brilliant."

"He will be a Liverpool wonderkid one day," declared another.

"Young talents and our future lads," said another, while one final fan wrote: "The future is red."

Tsimikas, known as the 'Greek Scouser', is a hugely popular player at Anfied having joined the club in 2020.

Dutch Football Journalist Marcel Van Der Kraan believes Liverpool boss Arne Slot will 'outshine' Manchester United's Erik Ten Hag and claims he's been doing 'mind-blowing' things that have not been seen for 35 years

While playing second-fiddle to Andy Robertson at left-back, the 28-year-old has still managed 16 assists in just 86 games for the club.

While it might be ten years-or-so before these youngsters are ready for the first team, Liverpool will soon be stepping up their preparations ahead of the new Premier League season.

Arne Slot's side will begin the new season on August 17 when they travel to take on newly-promoted Ipswich at Portman Road.
