ADAM IDAH has been spotted on holiday with James Forrest, fuelling further speculation that he is on the verge of a permanent return to Celtic.

The Republic of Ireland striker spent the final half of last season on loan at Parkhead and scored the goal that made the difference in the Scottish Cup final against Rangers as a parting gift.

But ever since then there has been talk of him making a full-time switch to the Hoops from current club Norwich City.

That's despite his initial arrival being greeted with an overwhelming feeling of apathy, with the Celtic faithful largely disappointed with the January transfer window as a whole.

But fast forward six months and the 23-year-old is a fan favourite, with a knack for important goals in big games winning over the fans come season's end.

So much so that when he posted "best of luck for the future" in reference to the club on social media, concerned supporters were up in arms and demanded Celts chiefs do all they can to bring him back.

Brendan Rodgers is keen on bringing Idah back but the Hoops have been warned that the ball is firmly in Norwich's court, with boss Johannes Hoff Thorup wanting to make up his own mind on the player.

The transfer fee won't be cheap either, believed to be in the region of AT LEAST £5m.

Idah still has four years remaining on his Norwich contract but is expected to be allowed to leave if the right offer comes in.

However if interest in the striker extends beyond that of just Celtic, the asking price was only rise.

Idah himself is still in holiday mode and he posted a picture on his Instagram story with Hoops veteran and Scotland Euros star Forrest as they met up on holiday.

As if that wasn't enough, Idah captioned the image "The bhoys in green" and posted a green love heart.

It's sent Celtic fans into a frenzy who reckon the player is crying out for a return to Glasgow on a permanent basis.

One fan said: "Celtic, come and get the lad. Adam Idah with James Forrest on his Instagram. 'The bhoys in green'...," with a side eyes emoji.

Another said: "Just Adam Idah on holiday with Jamesy Forrest..."

A third response came: "Adam Idah’s Insta story is a come-and-get-me plea if I ever saw one."

While this punter said: "Adam Idah taking the absolute Michael out of Norwich City."
