HIBS want to bring Simon Murray back for a second spell at Easter Road.

The Ross County frontman bagged 23 goals in all competitions last season and came up big as the Staggies retained their Premiership status.

The 32-year-old has scored goals wherever he has gone and now SunSport's Alan Nixon is reporting on his Patreon account that the Easter Road side are keen to bring him back to Leith.

They're under new management - although David Gray played with the star during the 2017-18 campaign.

Hibs director of football Malky Mackay also managed Murray in Dingwall.

Murray has a year left on his contract at County, who will be demand top dollar if they are to entertain the departure of their key striker.

The Easter Road side are in action today in a friendly against Edinburgh City.

Powerful defender Marvin Ekpiteta became David Gray's third signing of the summer on Thursday when he joined on a three-year deal from Blackpool.

Goalkeeper Josef Bursik and defender Warren O’Hora have also signed up for the new capaign.

Hibs boss Gray said: “Marvin is someone I look forward to working with. He has great experience at a good level in England and adds extra leadership to the dressing room.

“Physically, he has all the attributes that fit the demands of Scottish football. He’s big, strong, dominant, very athletic and will be an asset in both boxes. We’re really pleased to bring him to the club.”

Sporting director Mackay added: “Like Warren O’Hora, Marvin is another player who has been a captain and a leader within first team groups.
