Liverpool could start the coming season with a completely different goalkeeper department.

Adrian announced his departure from the club earlier this month following the expiration of his contract at Anfield and has since re-joined his boyhood club, Real Betis, on a free transfer. That departure came after goalkeeping coach John Achterberg left following 15 years with the Reds to join Steven Gerrard's staff at Saudi Pro League side Al-Ettifaq.

Alisson is also the subject of interest from Saudi Arabia, with Al-Nassr said to be keen on signing the Brazil international. Then there is Caoimhin Kelleher, who has hinted at leaving to become first-choice elsewhere away from Liverpool.

Therefore, it is no surprise that Liverpool are said to be showing interest in several goalkeepers. Andriy Lunin is one of those linked, with Spanish news outlet El Nacional reporting that new head coach Arne Slot has asked the club to sign the Real Madrid player after making it clear the Ukraine international is the goalkeeper he wants.

On the same day those reports emerged, Marca published an interview with Lunin, his first with a Spanish publication since signing for the club six years ago. They claim that the goalkeeper did not want to cause controversy with the comments but spoke openly about wanting to stay with the Champions League holders as contract talks continue to drag on.

Asked if he is staying in the Spanish capital this summer, Lunin replied: "Let's see, let's see... There is not much left to know." Questioned about whether he wants to remain at Madrid, the player added: "Obviously, but... well, all I can say is that everything went well with Madrid... And that is now in the hands of Madrid. That's what I can say about my future." Clarifying those comments, Lunin explained: "Well, I said what I meant. Soon... Well, I don't know what's going to happen either."
