Philippe Clement names Rangers curse that CAN'T be repeated as Nicolas Raskin leaves Ajax friendly 'on crutches'

The Belgian midfielder limped off during the 2-1 pre-season defeat to the Dutch giants.

Rangers star Nicolas Raskin reportedly left the pre-season clash with Ajax "on crutches" as Philippe Clement vented over the continuing injury problems at Ibrox.

The Dutch giants ran out winners thanks to goals from Kian Fitz-Jim and Branco van den Boomen - with Tom Lawrence's free-kick proving to be nothing more than a consolation for the Scottish Premiership side. Things only got worse for the Light Blues as Raskin went down clutching his leg after a crunching tackle from Van den Boomen. He received treatment on the pitch before limping off to be replaced by Connor Barron.

The Rangers Review now report that the Belgian midfielder was "seen leaving the stadium at Wezep on crutches, wearing a protective boot" after the collision. It follows Clement's men being hampered by injury woes last term - with the curse looking to have struck the 23-year-old already with the league campaign and Champions League qualifiers just around the corner.

Following the full-time whistle, Clement was asked for an update on Raskin's condition by Rangers TV. He admitted that the club can't continue their injury hoodoo: "I don't know yet. I hope it's not too bad because we cannot lose players. It was an unlucky duel, so we will see."
