Aston Villa are said to be demanding £60m from Al-Ittihad to sell Moussa Diaby.

Villa are understood to be in talks with the Saudi Pro League club over a deal for Diaby, who only arrived at Villa Park last summer from Bayer Leverkusen. And talkSPORT claim the club have put a £60m price tag on the player.

Al-Ittihad’s first offer for the 25-year-old Frenchman is thought to have been €55m (£46m).

Diaby is said to be open to the move, having turned down the chance to join Al-Nassr last summer before signing for Villa. French legend Laurent Blanc has just taken charge of Al-Ittihad, who already have French players Karim Benzema and N'Golo Kante in their squad.

Diaby enjoyed an impressive first season at Villa, making 54 appearances across all competitions under Unai Emery. He registered 19 goal contributions, scoring 10 goals and assisting nine.

Villa have already been busy in the summer transfer window bolstering Emery’s squad with Ian Maatsen from Chelsea, Samuel Iling-Junior and Enzo Barrenechea from Juventus, Lewis Dobbin from Everton and Ross Barkley from Luton Town.
