Borussia Dortmund forward Karim Adeyemi has refused to comment on his future at his current club amid reported interest from Liverpool and other sides. Adeyemi was first linked with the Reds during his Red Bull Salzburg days, though opted to sign for Dortmund during the summer of 2022.

The German has been a success since making this move and helped his club reach the final of last season's Champions League, only to lose to Real Madrid in disappointing fashion at Wembley. Opportunities could prove harder to come by next season, however, due to Dortmund chasing Stuttgart striker Serhou Guirassy, whose 28 league goals last term were bettered only by Harry Kane.

The ECHO recently reported there has been no suggestion of a swoop for Adeyemi, though that hasn't stopped the Reds being credited with interest in the player. Speaking out on what could happen this summer, the 22-year-old told Ruhr Nachrichten: "I can't say anything about that. I'm wearing a Dortmund shirt, and I'm very happy to be wearing a Dortmund shirt. There are no guarantees in life."

Sky Germany have claimed Dortmund would consider a sale if a club comes forward with an offer in excess of €30million (£25m) is made, which would represent a reasonable price for a player with plenty of potential.

Should Bayern Munich enter the race, Adeyemi's mind will likely to be made up rather quickly. Commenting on Bayern back in 2021, he said to Marca: "If (Bayern) made me an offer, I think I would choose that path. I want to show them what I can do, who I am and that it was a mistake to let me go. That motivates me.”

While the promising attacker may have his heart set on a return to Bayern, the president of Unterhaching - a club the forward represented for six years during his youth career - believes Adeyemi will end up in the Premier League at some stage.

"German football would be well advised to bring him back,” Manfred Schwabl previously told Sport1. "(But) if he came back to Germany, it would only be an intermediate step. In the long run, he’s a player for England."
