Aston Villa team news vs Spartak Trnava as Unai Emery takes 24 players to Slovakia
Aston Villa face Spartak Trnava at the Anton Malatinsky Stadium in Slovakia this afternoon
Aston Villa head coach Unai Emery has named his starting XI to face Spartak Trnava this afternoon (3pm kick-off) for the club's second pre-season friendly of the summer.
Most of the XI which started in the win over Walsall on Wednesday play from the off today, with the only change being new signing Lewis Dobbin coming in for Kadan Young. Emery has named 13 substitues, which is the starting XI from Wednesday night, plus winger Young and goalkeeper James Wright.
Morgan Rogers scored a brace at the Bescot before Louie Barry bagged late on in the second period after being assisted by Samuel Ilg-Junior. Emery could name two difference XIs in either half again this afternoon to give his players 45 minutes each to build up their fitness ahead of the new campaign, which Villa will start at the London Stadium against West Ham on Saturday, August 17.

This afternoon's opponents Spartak Trnava finished third in the Slovakian top-flight last season and qualified for the Europa League play-offs.
They will face Sarajevo away from home next Thursday and have already played four friendlies so far this summer, losing three and drawing to TSV Hartberg a week ago.
