Ianis Hagi 'agrees' Fiorentina return as Rangers dealt blow in Sima chase - Ibrox transfer latest

The latest from Ibrox as Ianis Hagi could be heading for the exit door

Ianis Hagi has reportedly agreed terms on a move to Fiorentina - but it remains to be seen if the Italian side will meet Rangers' asking price, according to the latest from Romania.

Playmaker Hagi looks set to leave Ibrox this summer after his agent jokingly offered to pay for the move himself to get him playing regular first-team football elsewhere. He endured a tough loan stint at Deportivo Alaves but showed he's still got it at the Euros with his country and is planning to reignite his career elsewhere.

Romanian outlet Sport pe Surse go as far to say he has now 'agreed' on a €1m per year salary with his former club Fiorentina, where he spent two years in his youth between 2016 and 2018 and made two senior appearances. But they note that the Serie A club are yet to front up Rangers' asking price - which they put at €3.5m (£2.95m).

Hagi has made 99 appearances in total during his four years at Rangers but last played for them in a two-minute cameo against Servette in Champions League qualifying last July before heading out on loan. But he's fit again after his injury nightmare and looking to make an impression wherever he ends up next.

Elsewhere, Abdallah Sima could still be a live option for Rangers but they are being made to wait by Brighton. It's believed Philippe Clement is keen to bring Sima back after an initially highly-promising loan spell was cut short by injury last season. The Seagulls are yet to make a decision though - and have taken him to Tokyo for pre-season. He could get some minutes against Kashima Antlers on Wednesday with new boss Fabian Hurzeler running the rule over the Senegal cap.

And rumours are swirling down south that young Rangers defender Johnly Yfeko is about to join Exeter City on loan. Yfeko has long been one of the most promising talents in the B-team at Ibrox but has found senior minutes hard to come by. The 21-year-old Englishman last played for the top team against Morton in the League Cup back in August but is yet to feature under Clement.

Reports are rife he's set to join English League Two outfit Exeter on loan - with one eagle-eyed fan sharing an image appearing to show him training with them already. Yfeko hasn't been seen at training with either Clement's first-team or the B side, so this one may have legs.
