Dortmund boss Nuri Sahin shows his anger after friendly defeat

Borussia Dortmund coach Nuri Sahin said after his side's first pre-season defeat in a 4-0 thrashing by Thai side Pathum United Bangkok that such a result "can't happen". The new German coach was disappointed after the game: "I know the boys are tired and have trained hard, but that can't be an excuse at this level.

The Turkish coach added that he was "not happy at all’" with the "box defence", which he reproached the players for at half-time, and stressed that they have to "work on that". "Just because the guys are tired I can't say don't worry about it. If you don't do the basics, you won't play, it's as simple as that!" the North Rhine-Westphalia coach added.

Borussia Dortmund, on tour in Asia, will play one more match on the eastern continent, this time in Japan against Cerezo Osaka.

They will then return to Europe for the final two matches before the start of the season against Villarreal in Austria and Aston Villa at home.
