Morgan Whittaker to Rangers hots up as bid submitted and Swansea City set for boost
The Swans could be set to benefit from any big-money move for their former forward
Rangers have been tipped to return with an improved bid for former Swansea City forward Morgan Whittaker this summer.
The 23-year-old left Swansea to join Plymouth Argyle last year, and enjoyed a hugely impressive season, netting 20 goals in all competitions for the Pilgrims.
It's a red-hot run of form that's attracted plenty of attention. Whittaker was the subject of a failed bid from Italian giants Lazio in January, and there has been similarly strong interest in this window, with reports elsewhere tipping the likes of Wolves of Brentford as potential suitors.

Rangers, however, appear to be leading any transfer chase, having already had a £7m bid knocked back, and they could well return with an improved bid.
Our colleagues at the Daily Record state Whittaker "ticks virtually every box" for the Scottish giants.
It's a saga Swansea will be keeping a close eye on given they inserted what's believed to be a healthy sell-on clause into the deal taking him to Devon.
According to pundit Carlton Palmer, the Scottish giants are likely to come back in with a bigger bid, which would potentially be music to the ears of the Swans.
“The rumours are that Glasgow Rangers are preparing to go back in with an improved for Morgan Whittaker," he told Football League World.

“Apparently Whittaker has made his feelings clear that he would like to join Glasgow Rangers, and he had an impressive season last season with Plymouth to help keep them in the Championship, his 19 goals were a major part in keeping them up.
"We’ll have to see, Wayne Rooney has made it very clear that they wouldn’t be selling Whittaker unless they get a crazy offer. But it’s getting close to the start of the season, and if Whittaker has made his feelings known, I would think an improved offer - say they came back with £10 million and add-ons - I think it’s likely that we see Plymouth Argyle’s Morgan Whittaker heading to Glasgow Rangers.”
