CELTIC legend Neil Lennon has blasted bizarre Romanian reports of him urinating on Rapid Bucharest's training pitch.

And pal Frank McAvennie quipped the stories were 'a lot of p***'.

Lennon took over at the Giulesti Stadium in a surprise move back in May.

But last month he was accused of being caught short on duty which prompted his club to issue a strong denial.

Now Lennon has lifted the lid on the bizarre rumours for the first time - calling the Romanian tale 'completely fabricated' and revealing the 'p-word' that he DOES partake in on a Friday afternoon.

Journalist Daniel Marcu claimed that Lennon and his assistant coaches had visited a brewery and then alleged the bizarre incident happened at a Thursday training session.

Speaking over video-link to Simon Houston and Frank McAvennie on the 'Let Me Be Frank' podcast he issued his own flat denial.

Asked if he thought he'd avoid the media glare with the unusual career move, Lennon said: "Exactly that.

"You just get on with your work and then you see stories like that that are completely fabricated and you realise it's obviously the same everywhere else.

"It's just something that you have to put to one side and ignore."

McAvennie added: "We were talking about earlier, about the papers with Neil just now. It's a lot of p*** to me, but never mind."

Lennon groaned: "That's a new one."

But he also expanded on what DOES happen on the training ground, as well as what doesn't.

He added: "It's more intense in the training. It's a bit more like a British style of playing and training. Again, there's a little bit of adaptation there for the players, but we can see the progress that they're making.

"I don't speak the language, obviously, but most of the guys speak English.

"The staff here have worked in England as well. Some of them are director of football and the CEO. "

And Lennon joked: "As you know, Simon, things can get lost in translation.

"In terms of the staff behind the scenes, they're first class as well."

But away from the training Lennon says he has a new hobby - that begins with P too!

He added: "We play padel tennis as well. I don't know if you've played that before. During our spare time, we play a bit of padel tennis, which is something I never played before until I come here.
