Manchester City face rivals Manchester United in the curtain-raiser for the new football club season.

Fresh off the back of the European Championships, where Spain took home the glory, the Premier League winners face the FA Cup champions at Wembley.


City, who won a record fourth consecutive title last season, are hoping to secure their seventh Community Shield. Victory for the Red Devils would see them grab their 22nd. For each team, the Community Shield presents an opportunity to pick up the first piece of silverware of the season.

Pep Guardiola has lost his last three Community Shield matches, which came against Leicester City, Liverpool and Arsenal. Despite fears over his future at Old Trafford, Erik ten Hag has retained his job as United manager following the INEOS takeover.
