Community Shield TV channel, start time, live stream and where to watch crunch clash
The Community Shield, and with it the new football season, is here - and Daily Star Sport has a look at what time it starts and where you can watch the showpiece
Football never really went away, did it?
A few short weeks after England's heartbreaking defeat the hands of Spain in the Euro 2024 final, club football is back with a bang. Can we call the Community Shield a bang? With the ongoing discourse about it as a competition.
Either way, try telling that to Manchester City or Manchester United who can get their hands on the first, unofficial, silverware of the season on Saturday afternoon. And Daily Star Sport has a look at where you can watch the showpiece.
When does Manchester City vs Manchester United kick off?
The two Manchester rivals will clash at Wembley on Saturday, August 10 - with kick off scheduled for 3pm BST.
However, TV coverage will start around an hour before kick off, as fans from across the country can welcome the return of club football (providing they've not already tuned into the EFL or European qualification clashes).
Where can you watch Manchester City vs Manchester United?
The Community Shield final will be broadcast on ITV1 - with coverage expected to start around an hour before kick off. However, if you're out-and-about, fear not, footie fans will also be able to stream the game on ITVX.
Alternatively, the game will also be broadcast on BBC Radio 5 Live.
What is the team news?
The season hasn't even kicked off yet and Erik ten Hag is already facing an injury crisis. The Dutchman may well have been over the moon while welcoming back Luke Shaw and Kobbie Mainoo - but he'll be without Rasmus Hojlund and new signing Leny Yoro, who both picked up long-term injuries.
Pep Guardiola will be without Ederson due to some "niggles" and Rico Lewis, who was forced off in the Chelsea victory. Rodri, Phil Foden, Kyle Walker and John Stones are also likely to be unavailable - but we could see Kevin De Bruyne and Bernardo Silva return, as well as new signing Savinho.
