It may still be autumn, but before we know it Christmas will be here, so we may as well start prepping now. Advent calendars have come a long way from being solely about chocolate, as there are dozens of different types nowadays with most big brands releasing their own each year.

While beauty advent calendars are arguably the most popular, there are many out there to suit everyone's interests. This includes LEGO which is offering a variety of 2024 advent calendars, including Disney and Harry Potter.

They're not the only advent calendars you can buy now, with many retailers selling calendars containing quirky items, such as alcohol, toys and even socks. Fortnum and Mason, Papier, Amazon, MenKind and White Stuff are among the sellers offering alternative 2024 calendars right now.

LEGO

You can now purchase a variety of LEGO advent calendars that all cost £29.99 and are available to buy now. This includes the Harry Potter calendar which comprises characters, mini-build toys related to the four Hogwarts houses, and festive decorations.

The Star Wars advent calendar takes builders through the history of LEGO Star Wars sets in chronological order from 1999 to 2024, comprising mini figures and models. There's also a Spider-Man calendar that will create the iconic New York City street scenes in the films, and a Disney advent calendar which includes micro-doll figures and characters from some of the beloved films.

Papier's 24 Doors of Desk Delights Advent Calendar is a stationery lover's dream and is available to buy now. The contents of the delightful box is worth £200, but the calendar costs £140, giving you a lovely £60 saving.

If you're wanting to get organised at work, university or school, Papier's calendar is the one for you. Inside are 24 beautiful boxes containing many useful (and pretty) stationery items, including notepads, pens, stickers, stamps and much more.

If you're after a quirky advent calendar that you're unlikely to find anywhere else, MenKind is the place to shop. The retailer is already selling dozens of calendars, including the Bearded Man Beard Oil Advent Calendar (£30) that contains 24 scented beard oils - the perfect calendar for anyone with a beard like Santa.

Are you a film fan or have a family member or friend who is? MenKind has spoiled us this year with advent calendars based on Star Wars, Harry Potter, and more. The Stormtrooper Beer Advent Calendar (£49) is available to buy now, while the Harry Potter Potions Advent Calendar (£79) which comprises different accessories can be pre-ordered, with it expected to be released on October 2. Unfortunately the Marvel Christmas Holiday Funko Advent Calendar (£60) which contains 24 mini Pop! figures is currently sold out, but hopefully it may come back in stock.

MenKind hasn't left Formula 1 fans out, either, as the retailer is the only place where you can buy the Red Bull Racing F1 Advent Calendar (£69) that allows you to build your own mini RB19. It's available to pre-order now, and it is expected to be released on October 9.

If you love your spirits and liqueurs, Fortnum and Mason's 'premium' advent calendar is for you. Costing £225, it features 25 unique spirits and liqueurs from the Fortnum's Collection, plus a few from its most-loved collaborations.

The range includes vodka, gin, rum and liqueur in a variety of flavours, and behind each door, you'll also find a fun fact, recipe or serving suggestion to pair with the booze. The delicious tipples are sure to see you through the festive period.
