Liverpool winger Fabio Carvalho has joined Brentford on a permanent deal worth a reported £27.5m. The Portuguese, who came through the ranks at Fulham, struggled to break into the first team after arriving at Anfield in 2022. He lit up the Championship when he joined Hull City on loan last season, firing them to the brink of the play-offs, and now returns to the top flight in West London.

Liverpool forward Fabio Carvalho has signed for Brentford on a five-year contract.
The Portuguese had been at Anfield for two years after signing from Fulham, but struggled to break into the first team.
The Bees have paid an up-front fee reported to be in the region of £22.5 million, while the deal is said include a further £5m in add-ons.
He will be available for their opening game of the season against Crystal Palace on Sunday.
"Fabio is a player with a lot of qualities," manager Thomas Frank told the club's official website. "He can play in all of the front three or four positions in a 4-3-3 or a 4-2-3-1. His best position is probably as a No. 10 or coming in from the left."
Brentford moved quickly to secure Carvalho's signature, after he lit up the Championship on loan at Hull City last term, helping The Tigers to seventh in the table, one place off the play-offs.
He also spent the early part of the 2023/24 campaign with RB Leipzig, but struggled for game time.
The 22-year-old has international pedigree too, having represented England's youth teams on 22 occasions before switching allegiance to Portugal, for whom he has made four U21 appearances.
Carvalho was named in his country's 55-man preliminary squad for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, but he was omitted from the tournament roster.
While at Anfield, Carvalho pulled on the red shirt on 22 occasions, memorably scoring a last-gasp winner against Newcastle in August 2022.
It is those attacking credentials that have particularly impressed Frank.
"Offensively, he has great abilities on the ball: he can go past players, slide a pass, create chances and get on the end of chances," Frank continued. "He's a type of player that we don't have many of in the squad so he will add that something extra for us.
"His ability and mentality to work hard in the pressure is also very, very good.
"That's along with him ticking all the boxes from a cultural perspective and being the right character. So we're very pleased to see him come in and push the team forward."
