Diarra has been tipped for a big future

Signed from home-country side Stade Malien, Diarra has scored four goals in 22 appearances and set up two more.

And African media reports claim Ibrox officials have been in contact with the frontman's advisors about a potential move.

The Light Blues are said to be ready to pay up to £1.7million for Diarra, who has also caught the eye of various European clubs.

Capped twice at Under-23 level, the forward has been tipped for a big future.

He helped unfancied Tirol avoid relegation following playoffs after they finished 11th in Austria's 12-team Bundesliga.

That was despite the Wattens club having to borrow Innsbruck's Tivoli Stadium, 10 miles from their base, as their own ground is too small for top-flight games.

Gers boss Philippe Clement is still on the lookout for reinforcements before the transfer window closes.

And club chiefs could now step up talks with their Tirol opposite numbers to secure a deal for Diarra.

He's in action against Bayern Munich TONIGHT in a pre-season friendly after playing against French giants Olympic Lyon.

Former Gers star Ryan Jack, meanwhile, has shared the shocking details of old fan favourite Alfredo Morelos' actions at training the day before the 2019 League Cup final.

Jack Butland opens up on holding talks over Rangers future after transfer interest

Rangers lost 1-0 to rivals Celtic thanks to a controversial goal from Christopher Jullien.

Jack revealed that Morelos - nicknamed El Bufalo - caused a stir amid the Ibrox camp on the eve of the final, by turning up late for training.

Speaking to the Open Goal podcast, Jack said: "We are training at 11am, it gets to about half 10 - has anyone seen Buf?

"People were trying to phone him, he's not answering.

"He comes out on the pitch at half 11, not a care in the world, boots untied, just struts onto the pitch."
