Aston Villa make Cameron Archer decision after transfer talks

Cameron Archer could leave Aston Villa on loan this month as clubs in Europe battle for his signature

Aston Villa will reportedly let Cameron Archer leave on loan this summer amid interest from clubs in England and in Europe.

The striker returned to Bodymoor Heath in June following Sheffield United's relegation to the Championship. He was sold on a permanent basis, but there was an agreement that he'd go back to Villa if the Blades dropped out of the top-flight.

Archer made 28 appearances for Sheffield United last season and scored four goals, including at Villa Park in the 1-1 draw in December. He put the Blades ahead late on, before Nicolo Zaniolo levelled the game up in the 97th minute. He also scored against Everton, Wolves and Luton Town.

The 22-year-old is appreciated by Bournemouth, but they are concentrated on other targets at this stage. It is understood that Archer held talks with the Cherries earlier in the summer, but a move has not materialised.

Fabrizio Romano claims that Villa are planning to sanction a loan deal for Archer before the end of the month with Bundesliga side Union Berlin and Spanish club Getafe both leading the way.

Archer has made a total of 14 appearances for Villa since scoring a hat-trick on his first-team debut in the 6-0 win at Barrow in the Carabao Cup three years ago.
