RANGERS star Rabbi Matondo could be on his way to England, according to a report.

But it's NOT Leeds United.

Matondo, 23, has been heavily linked with a switch to Elland Road in recent days.

Leeds have lost several key attackers this summer with Crysencio Summerville joining West Ham and Georginio Rutter completing a mega money switch to Brighton.

But while a fresh report claims Matondo could be on his way to England, it appear it WON'T be to join Daniel Farke's side.

The Daily Mail say the Wales international is a player that Leeds have 'asked about' as they look to bolster their attacking options.

However, the report claims that Matondo is instead 'destined' to join Blackburn Rovers.

A £1.8million signing from Schalke in 2022, former Manchester City trainee Matondo has failed to hold down a regular spot in the Rangers XI.

A combination of inconsistent form and injury woe has hampered his time at Ibrox.

Matondo still two years left to run on his Rangers contract.

He managed just 19 league appearances in each of his first two seasons at the club.

Matondo didn't find the net in his first campaign but chipped-in with five goals last season.

That, of course, included his remarkable 93rd minute equaliser in Rangers' thrilling 3-3 draw against Celtic at Ibrox.

The strike was named the goal of the season at the PFA Scotland awards.

Rangers have added Oscar Cortes and Vaclav Cerny to the winger positions this season and although Matondo has appeared four times for the Gers, only one of those has come from the start.

Meanwhile, one-time Rangers target Auston Trusty has emerged as a target for CELTIC.

The United States international was wanted by the Light Blues last summer when he was at Arsenal.

However, the defender instead moved to Sheffield United in a £5million deal.

But now, SunSport has exclusively revealed that 26-year old Trusty is wanted by the Hoops as they look to bolster their defensive options.

Mikey Johnston could go the other way as part of a deal.
