Liverpool handed Stefan Bajcetic transfer hint by Arsenal as manager confirms plans

Latest Liverpool transfer news and gossip as Stefan Bajcetic continues to be linked with a move away from Anfield

Stefan Bajcetic's future at Liverpool continues to be the subject of speculation, and it seems there is increased interest in the midfielder. The 19-year-old has been part of the Reds' pre-season preparations under new head coach Arne Slot but did not feature in the Premier League opener against Ipswich Town last weekend.

Bajcetic spent the majority of last season on the sidelines recovering from injury, making just three cameo appearances, with the most recent coming back in May. The midfielder has gradually been building up his fitness and was last on the pitch for the pre-season win over Sevilla earlier this month.

Rumours in recent weeks have seen Bajcetic linked with a move away from Anfield. HITC has reported that Real Sociedad could be in the running to sign Bajcetic as a replacement for Mikel Merino, who looks set to complete a move to Arsenal in the coming days.

There have also been suggestions that Celta Vigo, the club Liverpool signed the midfielder from in 2020, could be a potential destination. The La Liga club's manager, Claudio Giraldez, confirmed that Celta Vigo could move to re-sign Bajcetic with El Desmarque reporting there is an interest in the Reds midfielder.

"It's possible, like everyone else. The market is open and it's another possibility," said Giraldez when about the chances of signing Bajcetic from Liverpool. "He's a player I know, who knows the club, who we've trained and it's another possibility.

"We'll see how it goes. I'll start thinking about the market between games when the game we're going to play is a long way off."

Before he added: "We will see what happens with the market but I am clear that, if we get what we want, we will make a hyper-complete team."
