Bojan Miovski sparks 'unfair' transfer warning on live TV as Aberdeen FC hero fills £32m Girona hero's boots

A commentator has urged caution surrounding Girona new boy Bojan Miovski and reckons its "unfair" on the former Aberdeen goal hero to compare him with departed Artem Dovbyk.

The North Macedonia international sealed a £6.8m move to the La Liga upstarts and is expected to fill the boots of the man who joined Roma for £32m after he netted 24 goals to help Girona reach the Champions League for the first time in their history. Miovski entered the action in the 58th minute of their 3-0 defeat at the hands of Atletico Madrid. But his bow came with a warning over what fan expectation should be.

The play-by-play man for La Liga's international feed, stated: "Abel Ruiz departs, enter the North Macedonian international Bojan Miovski, signed from Aberdeen. He has been perhaps unfairly hailed as the new Artem Dovbyk but, more appropriately, he is the Dovbyk replacement."

Miovski was adored by Aberdeen supporters and scored 44 goals in 98 appearances and was chased by clubs in Italy and Spain before Girona made their move.

The 25-year-old is expected to earn extended game time in the coming weeks for a side balancing their La Liga campaign with eight games in the revamped Champions League format.
