Stuart Armstrong has found a new club after joining Vancouver Whitecaps.

The former Celtic, Southampton and Dundee United star will hook up with his former Tannadice team-mate and Scotland squad newbie Ryan Gauld as he kicks off a new chapter in the MLS. He's been handed a designated player contract through until 2026.

Axel Schuster, Whitecaps FC Sporting Director, has named the SIX key traits in the experienced midfielders game that attracted them to get the deal over the line. He told the official club website: “We are very excited to welcome Stuart and his family to Vancouver. He is a player who has excelled for many years at the highest levels in the United Kingdom, as well as internationally with Scotland. He brings experience, tactical awareness, positional flexibility, and a very high work rate. In addition, his passing range and elite chance creation from the midfield position will add another dimension to our team’s overall attack."

The 32-year-old will bring a wealth of experience to his new side having played at the top level for Celtic and also in the English Premier League with Southampton. He's also picked up 51 caps for the national team. Record Sport revealed last night that Armstrong was closing in on his new club and had offers from England and abroad but opted for a crack at the MLS.
