An international teammate of Ianis Hagi says the midfielder is biding his time over a return to the Rangers first team - but reveals that the player has grown 'angry' and 'stressed' by his current predicament.

Hagi has found himself frozen out of the first team picture in Govan by Philippe Clement following his return from a year-long loan at La Liga side Alaves last season, and has had to build-up his match fitness by appearing for the Light Blues B team. The 25-year-old had been linked with a move back to Romania during the summer transfer window, but has remained at Ibrox beyond the deadline after expressing his desire to stay and fight for his place at Rangers.

The playmaker will hope to put his recent troubles to one side when Romania take on Kosovo and Lithuania over the next week. And ahead of the Nations League double header, Virgil Ghita - who plays for Polish club Cracovia - has given some insight into his teammate's state of mind. Asked for the details of his conversations with Hagi, who he has hailed as an 'extraordinary player. He said: "He didn't tell me anything concrete.

"He waits his turn. It's normal to be careful what you say, what you do in moments like this. He's probably a little angry, stressed. I would be the same if I were him. However, I believe that things will resolve themselves, because Ianis is an extraordinary boy and player. It will be fine!

"It depends on the situation. I don't know what's behind him, what offers he still has on the table, whether he wants to leave or not. In his place, I would have fought primarily to catch the team, but I would not have ruled out going elsewhere either."
