Ezri Konsa posts message amid Aston Villa injury concerns after England withdrawal
Aston Villa centre back Ezri Konsa was forced off when playing in England's Nations League win over Finland on Tuesday night
Aston Villa defender Ezri Konsa outlined his pleasure at being handed more minutes in an England shirt on Tuesday night and congratulated Harry Kane on joining the 100 club, as he was presented with a landmark gold cap - but the centre half chose not to address his second half withdrawal after which he appeared to be in some discomfort.
Konsa played just over an hour of the Three Lions' 2-0 Nations League win over Finland at Wembley, having been forced off with what appeared to be an ankle injury. He was replaced by Chelsea defender Levi Colwill.
Interim manager Lee Carsley was quizzed about how Konsa was post-match, and he played down the initial concerns shared by all associated with Villa: "Yes, I think he is [OK]. I've not had a chance to see him because I've been speaking to the press, but he looked OK when I saw him."

Konsa himself visited Instagram after the game to share a post in which he outlined how he'd enjoyed getting more game time for his country while also giving a nod to captain Kane, who scored both goals in the comfortable victory.
"A good win tonight happy to get some mins and put the @england shirt on," Konsa posted. "Congrats @harrykane on 100 caps."
Konsa has been an integral part of Villa's side pretty much since joining the club from Brentford in 2019. He has certainly improved further under Unai Emery, for who he is a first choice centre half alongside Pau Torres and who has selected Konsa in each of the club's first three Premier League games of the season.
Being without Konsa would present problems though for Villa, who are without Matty Cash already; Emery has Diego Carlos to call upon but is still without Tyrone Mings, who hasn't played since August 2023 because of a knee injury.
