Malmo won't underestimate Rangers despite swerving the Europa League big guns - but warned the Ibrox side they'll be out to shoot them down in Sweden.

Philippe Clement's team kick off the revamped tournament as they look to bounce back from Champions League qualifying disappointment with a victory against their old foes on September 26. They've twice been knocked out of Europe by the Swedes in recent seasons and will be determined not to let history repeat.

Rangers landed a glamour draw which will see them take on the likes of Manchester United and Spurs, while Malmo in contrast were drawn against more modest teams - with Galatasaray, Twente and Olympiacos at home as well as Gers. However, Norwegian international Botheim insists they are desperate to get off to a flier. He said: "I think we can get a good start in the Europa League. It's true we avoided teams like Manchester United, Roma, Aax, Lazio and Spurs, but we won't be underestimating any opponents.

"There will be tough matches regardless, starting with Rangers at home. But I do think we have what it takes to qualify. We have to play against Rangers, Galatasaray, Twente and Olympiacos at home and I think everyone at the club is really looking forward to all of the games at our place in particular. I think we will be at our strongest at home."

Elswhere Ianis Hagi's former agent has claimed Rangers have slapped a £2.95 million price tag on him, but no clubs can watch him in Scotland. The Romanian star remains frozen out under Philippe Clement, but vowed this week after international duty he would continue to fight for his place.

But outspoken Giovanni Becali claims the reason clubs haven't tried to sign Hagi is because Rangers want 3.5 million Euros (£2.95 million) for his client and they don't get an opportunity to scout the player. He said: "Ianis' problem is that Rangers have set a clause for him, 3.5 million Euros. If a club comes in for him and pays it, he can leave Rangers. But the problem is Rangers aren't giving him the opportunity so no one can watch him. He's not even getting to sit on the bench, never mind playing."

Meanwhile, former Romania World Cup star, Iosif Rotariu, has questioned Ibrox boss Clement's decision not to use Hagi. The ex-Steaua Bucharest and Galatasaray midfielder said: "I watched Ianis during the international games there. I have never watched a player in my life who could dribble equally as well with his right or left foot. I know what's happening with him at Rangers. He should be used by the Rangers manager, no question. He's an exceptional player."

And it's been reported that Rangers had initially planned to sign Nedim Bajrami on loan from Sassuolo - only for plans to dramatically change and open the door to a permanent deal. The Albanian international joined on a £3.5m deal in the closing days of the transfer window and looks set to become a key player for Clement now he's settled after the international break.

The Rangers Review report that the original plan was to sign Bajrami on loan, following Sassuolo's relegation to Serie B. They didn't want to lose him permanently to begin with, but it's claimed they only had one outgoing loan spot remaining, and wanted to use it on Armand Lauriente - whose move to Galatasaray would later collapse. With Bajrami 'pushing hard' on a move to Ibrox, they decided to yield and sell him permanently to raise funds.
