The family, friends and football supporters will have a chance to pay tribute to Sven-Goran Eriksson on Friday with his funeral taking place in Sweden following a battle with cancer
Iconic former football manager Sven-Goran Eriksson will be laid to rest in Sweden today following his death at the age of 76.
The beloved ex-England and Manchester City boss died last month after a battle with pancreatic cancer. Tributes have since been pouring in, with his family having confirmed details of his funeral.
An emotional ceremony is set to take place in Eriksson’s home town of Torsby on Friday, with the small town set to come to a standstill with a host of famous faces from across the sport flying in.
Former England captain David Beckham has already flown in via private jet, while fellow former Three Lions boss Roy Hodgson has also arrived in Sweden to pay his respects. Organisers expect many more mourners to be in attendance throughout the ceremony.

Eriksson is set to have a New Orleans-style funeral with a brass band due to lead his coffin the short walk from Fryksände church to his homestead. The ceremony is due to get underway at 10am local time (9am UK time).
