Former Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot has agreed a deal in principle with Ligue 1 club Marseille, and will join the club, subject to passing a medical.
The Frenchman's contract with Juventus expired in July and he has been a free agent since, with several Premier League clubs, including Manchester United, reportedly interested in signing him.
However, he has opted to return to France, with the length and wage bill of his new contract not yet known.
Marseille revealed the news on X, writing, "Olympique de Marseille announces that it has reached an agreement in principle with Adrien Rabiot for the arrival at the club of the French international midfielder.
"The player will sign with OM subject to the result of his medical."
Rabiot spent five years at Juventus, winning the Serie A title in his first year at the club and two Coppa Italia titles, but reportedly ruled out a contract extension with the side.
Rabiot started his career at Paris Saint-Germain, joining the club's academy aged 15 and making his first-team debut in 2012.
He amassed 18 major titles in his seven-year spell with the Parisian giants, including five Ligue 1 titles and two domestic trebles, before departing for Turin on a free transfer.
The 29-year-old has 48 senior caps for France and was part of their Euro 2024 squad, making five appearances en route to their semi-final loss to Spain.
Amid uncertainty over his future at club level, he was left out of France boss Didier Deschamps' squad for their Nations League fixtures this autumn.
Marseille, PSG's bitter rivals, currently sit second in the French top flight. Rabiot joins a host of summer signings including new manager Roberto de Zerbi, who recently arrived from Brighton, and players including Mason Greenwood, Neal Maupay, and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.
