Liverpool target Anthony Gordon is reportedly set to undergo fresh contract talks with Newcastle United,
The 23-year-old was the topic of conversation in the summer as the Reds were offered his services due to the Magpies' struggle with Profit and Sustainability Rules.
Gordon ultimately stayed at St James' Park but various reports suggested that he was attracted to a Merseyside return, after leaving Everton in January 2023.
Reports suggest that Eddie Howe's side are plotting talks over an extension for the England international.
Meanwhile, it has been claimed that Liverpool were among the host of clubs to send scouts to Arsenal's Champions League curtain-raiser against Atalanta.
The Reds have been linked with midfielder Ederson in the past, the suggestion is that he was being monitored by Arne Slot's side but also attacker and Europa League final hero, Ademola Lookman.
Inter Milan are reportedly interested in Joe Gomez. The England international faces an uncertain future at Anfield following interest from Newcastle United in the summer.
Gomez's selection chances have seemingly diminished since the arrival of Slot and the defender was left out of the opening day win over Ipswich Town following talks with Slot. Reports suggest he could be worth around €20million (£16m).
In the Premier League, Liverpool returned to winning ways as Darwin Nunez completed the scoring after a quickfire Luis Diaz double. The Reds ran out 3-0 winners over Bournemouth on Saturday as they bounced back from their defeat to Nottingham Forest, last time out.

Liverpool player ratings
Ryan Gravenberch 8
Another impressive showing where his ability to maintain possession under pressure was to the fore. Composure helped Liverpool see game out.
Alexis Mac Allister 7
Prompted purrs from the crowd with one pass and began to prosper in growing space. Tidy enough second half.
Mohamed Salah 6
Closely marked by Kerkez first half but able to force Kepa into two saves and technically assist for third. Got a little frustrated second half, however.

Ederson and Lookman scouted
Graeme Bailey has reported that Liverpool were among the clubs to send scouts to Atalanta vs Arsenal.
The Reds have been linked with midfielder Ederson in recent months and the report suggests former Everton winger Ademola Lookman was also being monitored.
Not only Liverpool are said to be following the pair, Arsenal, Spurs and Newcastle United were in attendance.
In the article, they report:
We at TBR are told that the main reason for their presence was to assess the progress of Ederson and Ademola Lookman, who they all looked at closely in the summer.
Both Ederson and Lookman were strongly linked with moves during the previous window, but Atalanta held off suitors.
However, interest remains strong.

Anthony Gordon contract talks
According to the Mail, via the Express, Newcastle United are weighing up talks with Anthony Gordon over an extension.
It has been said that Newcastle are prepared to offer a deal worth just under £9million annually, a salary that would surpass that of the club's current top earner, Bruno Guimaraes.

Good morning!
Good morning and hello.

Sit back, grab a cuppa, let's see what's in the news.
Ryan Gravenberch sends three-word message
Ryan Gravenberch has issued a message after continuing his impressive start to the season for Liverpool.
The midfielder starred for the Reds in Saturday's win over Bournemouth in the Premier League.
Gravenberch has played the full 90 minutes in all six matches so far this season, and has played a pivotal role in helping Liverpool amass 12 points from four wins in the Premier League this term.
The Netherlands international took to social media after the victory to send a message to Liverpool fans.
"Saturdays at Anfield," wrote Gravenberch on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Arne Slot makes Darwin Nunez admission
Arne Slot has admitted he didn't want Darwin Nunez to shoot when he took aim from the edge of the penalty area but conceded it was ultimately a "good choice" from his striker who scored Liverpool's third goal of the afternoon against Bournemouth.
"My first instinct when he shot was ‘why does he shoot’," Slot said after the game. "I would have said ‘why don’t you keep on dribbling’ because he made the ball free and I think the defender was on the ground.
"But then it was a fraction of a second later when I saw the ball went in off the post and then I was I was like ‘okay, maybe you are a better football player than I was in the past’. So it was a good choice from him."

Nunez gets 'standing ovation' from former striker
Former Premier League striker Troy Deeney was left stunned after watching Darwin Nunez's goal against Bournemouth. Liverpool claimed a 3-0 victory over the Cherries at Anfield on Saturday in the Premier League.
"I think that is excellent centre-forward play," Deeney told talkSPORT, analysing Nunez's goal.
"He [Nunez] has all the attributes, he wins the ball down the line, he has no right to win that, he wins the flick-on into [Mohamed] Salah. He then gets onto his own flick-on with Salah giving it to him back, he chops inside onto his weak foot.
"And then it's just about composing yourself, feel it, and he's just felt it with his left foot, post and in. And you can hear this place, he needed that, they needed that, what a goal, and that's why he got a standing ovation from me."

Liverpool player ratings
Liverpool returned to winning ways in the Premier League with a hard-earned home victory over Bournemouth. A brace from Luis Diaz and a wonder strike by Darwin Nunez - all in the first half - secured the Reds a 3-0 triumph.
The result continued the momentum of the midweek Champions League win at AC Milan and was the perfect response to last weekend's shock loss to Nottingham Forest.
The ECHO was in attendance at Anfield and here's how we rated the Liverpool players.

Why Bournemouth goal was disallowed
Liverpool briefly thought they were trailing in the opening minutes of the Premier League clash against Bournemouth. The Reds were facing the Cherries at Anfield looking to return to winning ways in the Premier League after last week's defeat to Nottingham Forest.
Arne Slot's side went into the game on the back of a victory over AC Milan in the opening fixture of the Champions League in midweek. The early minutes of the game against Bournemouth saw the visitors believe they had taken the lead.
Antoine Semeyno provided the finish in front of the Kop in the fourth minute, with the assistant referee initially keeping the flag down before the goal was checked by VAR.

Full-time at Anfield
The final whistle has gone and Liverpool have secured all three points with victory against Bournemouth.
The Reds have claimed a 3-0 win at Anfield thanks to a first-half brace from Luis Diaz supported by a goal from Darwin Nunez.
Liverpool will now look ahead to Wednesday night where they face West Ham in the third round of the Carabao Cup.
Half-time at Anfield
The half-time whistle has gone and Liverpool have a 3-0 lead against Bournemouth.
Luis Diaz scored a brace before Darwin Nunez found the back of the net with a sublime effort.
Bournemouth thought they had taken the lead through Antoine Semenyo before the strike was ruled out for offside.

Gerrard dream start ruined
Steven Gerrard's unbeaten run in the Saudi Pro League came to an end last night.
Liverpool icon Sadio Mane assisted twice in a 3-0 win as Cristiano Ronaldo opened the scoring from the spot.

Van Dijk on what's key for Liverpool
Virgil van Dijk says it is key for Liverpool to build on their win over AC Milan, following their defeat last time out in the Premier League.
Writing in his programme notes, he said:
"The key now is to build on that performance, and to deliver on a week-to-week basis. I have said many times that we remain a work in progress as a team, but we have shown already this season that there is a lot of talent within the squad. Now, it is about showing that consistently.
"That is on all of us. We have to stay fit, we have to do everything in our power to be ready for the next game, whether we start or not, and we have to feel part of winning games.
"We have a lot of games coming up, so we need all the guys to be ready. Everybody wants to play every game, of course, but we know that rotation is going to be important if we are to be successful this season, so it's about each and every player making sure they are in the best possible condition to make an impact, whether from the start or off the bench."

Curious case of Darwin Nunez
Liverpool head coach Arne Slot says they have "a lot of confidence" in Darwin Nunez as he detailed the areas where the striker can improve after a frustrating start to his campaign.
"It's always difficult because players but also media only think you have confidence in a player if you play him," he said.
"We have confidence in all of them, otherwise you don't bring a player in if you're 3-1 up (at Milan) about half-an-hour before the end or last week against Nottingham Forest (when) he came on for the last half-an-hour.
"There's a lot of confidence in him. But there are two players for that position and I could even come up with more who could play in that position.
"He is in competition with Diogo, who has done really well. But many games have to be played and there will be enough time to judge Darwin, if he improves and how he improves and if he can do special things for the club."

Slot: No point talking about Zubimendi
Arne Slot has issued a stern message as Martin Zubimendi continues to populate the news landscape.
Liverpool have shown no hangover from the disappointment with Ryan Gravenberch emerging as one of the first names on the team sheet, after being moved further back.
"It is not that much of one holding midfielder, it is a bit more two - and one of those two can be a bit more attacking," said the Liverpool boss.
"I think the player you mentioned could have fitted in in one of those two roles and Ryan can fit in both roles like Curtis (Jones) can, Alexis (Mac Allister) can and Wataru (Endo) can.
"If I could have bought him (Zubimendi) then maybe I could have rotated a bit more and you guys (the media) would be a lot more happy about it!
"But there is no point talking about Zubimendi any more because he stayed with Real Sociedad and we've moved on and we are really happy with Ryan.
"But a club like ours should always try to bring in good players who can help the team to win because it is going to be a long season and therefore you need a lot of good players.
"That has been proven in the Premier League if you look at the ones who have won the league in recent years. They have had a very big squad. So I don't think it would have affected Ryan's playing time."

Florian Wirtz battle
According to Christian Falk, Florian Wirtz is under consideration by Liverpool for a move this summer. The German reporter has also claimed that Real Madrid are leading the chase to sign the 21-year-old amid suggestions he wants to leave Bayer Leverkusen in 2025.
Manchester City has also been mentioned as a possible suitor, while Manchester United is said to not be in the race ‘at the moment’.
Falk has suggested Xabi Alonso’s club will demand around £126m.
