Gomes attracts interest
The Mirror reports that Premier League sides are circling for Lille midfielder Angel Gomes.
The 24-year-old England international is out of contract in the summer, meaning his club could choose to sell him in January.
The paper writes: “Lille are said to be braced for further offers from clubs interested in former Manchester United midfielder Angel Gomes.
“The 24-year-old playmaker is enjoying a stellar period for club and country after being handed his first senior England caps earlier this month. And his progress has not gone unnoticed in England, where clubs are lining up.
“Gomes came through the academy ranks at Old Trafford before moving to France in 2020 but has remained on the radar of several clubs.
“That means Gomes would be free to speak with clubs from overseas in January about a Bosman move next summer, though Lille could attempt to try and cash in during the winter transfer window to avoid such a scenario.”

Chilwell may have Chelsea future
Enzo Maresca may give defender Ben Chilwell a way back at Chelsea after he failed to move in the summer.
The Sun reports that after the left-back stayed on in the summer, he could have a future at Stamford Bridge in the short term.
The paper states: “The Italian oversaw a major clear-out this summer, with Conor Gallagher the highest-profile victim. But Chilwell could now be set for a spectacular return to first-term proceedings.
“The £200,000-a-week defender was one of the players axed from Chelsea’s senior squad.
“But unlike Sterling and Co, left-back Chilwell was unable to find a new club despite links with Manchester United.
“But it remains unclear whether his long-term future remains in London after his initial snub.”

Gordon set for Newcastle stay
Anthony Gordon could soon sign fresh terms at Newcastle United after rumoured interest from Liverpool.
The England winger is yet to agree a new deal, according to The Athletic, but an accord is expected.
The website explains: “Newcastle United are close to securing the future of winger Anthony Gordon by signing the 23-year-old to a new long-term contract.
“The Athletic revealed in August that Newcastle were preparing to open discussions.
“Though a full agreement has not yet been reached, all parties are confident that the deal will be signed with the broad terms having been agreed upon.
“Having developed his game significantly over the last 18 months, the new contract is seen to better reflect his true value and will make him one of Newcastle’s highest-earning players.”

United set to announce Obi-Martin
Manchester United are expected to announce the signing of Chido Obi-Martin from Arsenal.
The 16-year-old and his new club were awaiting approval from the Premier League to go ahead with the move.
The Evening Standard claims: “Manchester United have completed the signing of former Arsenal striker Chido Obi-Martin.
“The Red Devils had looked to wrap up a deal for the prolific teenage forward earlier this summer following his exit from Arsenal, whom he left after his schoolboy terms expired and he rejected the chance to become a scholar - leaving him as a free agent.
“However, as recently seen with highly-rated England youth international Rio Ngumoha’s switch to Liverpool after leaving Chelsea, moves that see players go from one Category One academy to another are subject to a rigorous five-step review process by the Premier League.”
