Divock Origi involved in bizarre PR stunt that would stun Liverpool cult hero
Divock Origi left Liverpool in 2022 after eight years at Anfield
Musician James Blunt could end up changing his name to Divock Origi after sharing a strange request on social media with his fans. Blunt, who rose to prominence during the early 2000s, is celebrating 20 years of his hit album 'Back to Bedlam' and has decided to re-release the album and has offered up a strange scenario should this rise to No.1 in the charts after being made available on October 11.
Back to Bedlam originally came out in March 2005 and spent ten weeks at the top of the pile. It remains one of the UK's best-selling albums of all time. Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Blunt wrote: "Wanna ruin my life? I'm legally changing my name if "Back to Bedlam" 20th Anniversary Edition reaches No.1. Comment your name suggestions below, and the most-liked comment wins. #jameswho."
As it stands, the comment with the most likes is none other than 'Divock Origi', which has amassed over 16,000 likes and is set to come out on top should Back to Bedlam prove to be a success two decades on from its initial debut.
Origi, who remains a Liverpool cult hero, is currently on the books of AC Milan but is yet to make an appearance for the Serie A side this season after being deemed surplus to requirements.
AC Milan legend Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who played alongside Origi and is now a senior adviser to the club after hanging up his boots, confirmed that the striker had been banished to Milan Futuro, the club's youth team.
"It's not true that they haven't been called up," Ibrahimovic declared. "The two of them (Origi and Fode Ballo Toure) have been called up, but for the Milan Futuro team. They are not part of the first team."
