FCSB travel to Scotland later this month for their Europa League clash with Rangers.

But they will be heading to Glasgow without their eccentric owner Gigi Becali after he revealed he will be watching - and coaching - the team from his bed in Romania.

The Romanian champions face Rangers at Ibrox in the third set of fixtures in the Europa League on October 24.

FCSB have struggled in the league this season and currently sit tenth - nine points behind leaders Universitatea Cluj.

But while their domestic form has been slacking, they will go into the tie in Glasgow on the back of a win against Greek giants PAOK last time out in Europe.

And Becali is confident they can make it three wins out of three, having kicked off their campaign with a win over FK RFS.

The Romanian businessman and former politician is regarded a controversial figure in his homeland after spending three years in jail between 2013 and 2016 for a corruption scandal.

Becali rarely avoids the limelight whether it'd be in football, politics or his personal life.

He has made life difficult for various FCSB managers in recent years as he has frequently admitted to having the final say when it comes to team selections.

And he plans to do the same for their match against Rangers later this month - but from the comfort of his own home instead.

The 66-year-old revealed he rewarded his players for their stunning away win in Greece before announcing he won't be joining them in Scotland for the Ibrox clash.

He said: "I announced to the entire squad after the game every one of them would receive £3,000 each for the win. That's the players and the staff. They made the whole of Romania happy.

"They are a team of winners and they deserve to be rewarded. I'm not going to go to Glasgow for the next game against Rangers.

"I intend to watch it in bed. This team are so good we can beat Rangers from my bed.

"Of course I will give instructions to the team as usual, but I will do it in bed.

"This would be unprecedented in football - I will be the first ever leader to coach a team from my bed! There is no need for me to travel to Glasgow. We can beat them with me in Romania."
