Adidas hatch Liverpool plan as Arsenal and Man United route to be followed
Liverpool are expected to change kit manufacturers for the 2025/26 season
Liverpool are poised to join Adidas' 'elite team' should a deal to be represented by the German kit supplier go ahead in 2025.
The Reds are into the final season of their Nike contract, which first began in 2020, and Adidas have continued to be linked with a change in direction as opposed to penning a new deal with their existing partner.
Sport Business first reported the rumours back in April regarding Adidas, though Liverpool declined to comment when recently asked by the ECHO about the prospect of switching.
Liverpool chief commercial officer Ben Latty told the ECHO: “We've had really successful kit launches with Nike over the last few weeks. Our focus at the moment is delivering with Nike. We've got some exciting collaborations with them coming up as well."

This will result in the Reds having a third kit featuring Adidas' Trefoil logo as opposed to the original decision, similarly to how Liverpool's current Nike third kit features a slanted swoosh. Arsenal are one club already in this category, as shown below.
Also set to join Liverpool in this exclusive club from 2025/26 are Newcastle, Celtic and AS Roma. Bayern Munich, Arsenal, Real Madrid, Juventus, Arsenal and Manchester United complete the full list.
Liverpool, who receive around £35m per annum from Nike in terms of a flat fee but where the additional value takes it above the £60m mark, have attempted to create more variety in the club merchandise through the partnership, releasing lines with basketball icon and Fenway Sports Group part-owner, LeBron James, as well as with the iconic brand Converse, with the Reds having looked to tap into the lifestyle brand market.
The Reds have grown commercial revenues considerably in recent years, the most recent standing at £272m for the 2022/23 financial year. That is likely to be pushing closer to the £300m mark for the financial year just ended, 2023/24, with the next kit supplier contract, whether it be Nike, Adidas or another firm, potentially driving revenues to near £350m by the time that contract starts to appear on the books.
