Barcelona scored eight second-half goals to dismantle Madrid CFF 8-1 in Liga F on Saturday, keeping their 100% record intact as they face a blockbuster clash with Manchester City in the UEFA Women's Champions League, live on TNT Sports and discovery+.
Barca came back from a 1-0 deficit at half-time to save new coach Pere Romeu from suffering his first league loss of the season.
England international and former City midfielder Keira Walsh scored twice, netting the equaliser and her side's fifth as she scored two goals in a match for the first time since joining in 2022.
Ewa Pajor also scored, making it six for her in five games since joining from Vfl Wolfsburg, while Vicky Lopez, Alexia Putellas, Ingrid Syrstad Engen, Ona Batlle and Jana Fernandez also pitched in with goals.
Putellas' goal, her 194th in Barca colours, drew her level with Ladislao Kubala in fourth place on the club's top-scoring chart.
Attention now turns to Wednesday's clash with City, where Barca will begin their quest of winning a third straight Champions League title.
TNT Sports will show this season's Women's Champions League, including Wednesday's match between Barca and City.
Barca defeated Women's Super League champions Chelsea in the semi-final of last year's Champions League, before toppling Lyon 2-0 in the final to claim the European title.
City completed an 8-0 aggregate win over Paris FC to reach this stage of the competition, and are rewarded with matches against the champions on Wednesday and on December 18, with games against St. Polten and Hammarby in between.
The two sides have not faced each other since 2021, when Barcelona prevailed 4-2 on aggregate in that year's quarter-finals. City, however, triumphed 2-1 in the second leg, in which Walsh starred for her former club.

TNT Sports will show over 500 matches from the UEFA Champions League, the UEFA Europa League and the UEFA Conference League across the 2024-25 season. The streaming home for TNT Sports in the UK is discovery+, where fans can enjoy a subscription that includes TNT Sports, Eurosport and entertainment in one destination.
