Jeremy Doku lifts lid on Man City internal competition after 'beautiful' goal
Jeremy Doku scored one of the best goals of his career in Manchester City's victory over Fulham and has opened up on battling for a place with his teammates
Manchester City winger Jeremy Doku hailed his stunning goal against Fulham as “one of the most beautiful” he has ever scored.
Substitute Doku's unstoppable strike eight minutes from time got City back to winning ways in the Premier League after two draws in a row.
Victory kept Pep Guardiola's side within a point of leaders Liverpool going into the international break, thanks to Doku's wonder goal.
“I saw there was a lot of space on the inside,” said Doku. “I just tried to hit the ball well and as soon as I lifted my head up, it went in. “It was different. I like goals where I dribble, for example against Luton. It depends what kind of goal you prefer, but of course this is one of the most beautiful.”

“So it's more about personally being in your best form. Since the start of the season, I haven't really been at my best, best form. But the last three or four games have been better and today was also good for my confidence.
“I just have to be myself and go at the defenders. If I'm in my best form, I know how I am. The last couple of games have been better and the statistics also follow that. I hope to keep on going like that.”
