Latest Aston Villa news from BirminghamLive as Jhon Duran signs new deal at Villa Park
TalkSPORT pundits Simon Jordan and Martin Keown have responded to Jhon Duran’s new contract at Aston Villa.
The Colombian striker has signed a new deal until 2030 at Villa Park, after a blistering start to the new season. The 20-year-old is the club’s top scorer with six goals so far during this campaign.
He set the tone with a winning goal against West Ham on the opening day and has netted four in total in the Premier League. He also scored a stunning winning goal for Unai Emery’s side in the Champions League against Bayern Munich at Villa Park last week.

Speaking about his new deal on talkSPORT, former Villa and Arsenal defender Keown said: “Super sub, isn’t he? You’re looking at Ollie Watkins, taking nothing away from him. He does all the damage doesn’t he and this fella comes on and scores wonder goals.
“He couldn’t quite do it against Manchester United, the goal against Bayern Munich was quite brilliant wasn’t it.
“To have that awareness, only maybe him in the form he is on could have taken that on.
“It’s a great story at Aston Villa, they’re just going from strength to strength. They have a manager who wants to work with the club from top to bottom, completely in charge.
“Everything about that club, he has got his fingerprints all over it.”
And Jordan added: “He’s a good player, we’ll see how he develops though.”
