Chris Davies says Scott Wright and Jay Stansfield’s injuries ‘aren’t too serious’ after the pair missed Birmingham City’s win at Lincoln.

Blues came from behind to defeat the Imps 3-1 at Sincil Bank without two of their most influential forwards. Record signing Stansfield suffered an injury whilst away on international duty with England under-21s, whilst Wright picked up a problem in training on the eve of the trip to Lincoln and wasn’t risked.

Asked about the pair’s condition afterwards, Blues manager Davies said: “We’re a little bit down to our bare bones. Scott and Jay are day by day, they aren’t too serious so we’ll have to see how they pull up tomorrow.”

Blues were dealt a further injury blow in their triumph over Lincoln when Emil Hansson was forced off early in the second half. Hansson pulled up with a muscle injury and was swiftly replaced by Ayumu Yokoyama.

Davies added: “Emil felt something there so again we will see how he responds because he had a good performance.”

Blues have some important games on the horizon with a League One double-header next week. Bolton Wanderers visit St Andrew’s @ Knighthead Park on Tuesday before Blues travel to Mansfield on Saturday.
