‘Tells you everything’ – Leon Balogun’s post-match revelation leaves Rangers fans concerned

RANGERS fans had plenty to be concerned about after watching their slide slump to a wretched defeat at Kilmarnock.
And a post-match revelation from defender Leon Balogun has added to their worries.
Philippe Clement's Gers headed to Rugby Park with the chance to close the gap on league leaders Celtic and Aberdeen.
The top two played out a thrilling 2-2 draw at Celtic Park on Saturday afternoon, meaning both sides remained unbeaten but surrendered their 100 per cent records.
Victory for Rangers in Ayrshire would've seen them close the gap on Celtic and the Dons to three points.
However, it was Killie who emerged victorious thanks to Marley Watkins' 87th minute strike.
It means that Rangers have ended up further BEHIND the top two after this round of matches.
Clement admitted after the game there were no excuses for his side's poor showing and that was a sentiment echoed by defender Leon Balogun.
The veteran stopper came on as a substitute in the second half but couldn't prevent defeat.
Balogun, 36, spoke to Rangers TV after the game and admitted it was a frustrating afternoon.
However, it was something else he said that left Gers fans concerned.
Balogun was asked what the atmosphere was like in the dressing room after the game, and his revelation surprised Rangers fans.
The defender revealed: "Very quiet, very frustrated. Rightfully so.
"But at the same time, we've made our bed and we have to lie in it."
The dressing room being 'quiet' wasn't necessarily what Rangers fans expected to hear and many took to social media to say just that.
One fan wrote: "Very quiet - shock. A good captain would be turning the dressing room upside down after a performance like that."
A second added: "The dressing room is 'very quiet' according to Balogun. Tells you everything."
Balogun admitted the team lacked an "extra edge" to their game.
He said: "Straight after the game is always a bit tough because you have to try and leave the emotion out which you give to the supporters. They're entitled to do that, be angry, be frustrated.
"We are as well, obviously. Nobody steps onto the pitch with the thought of drawing, losing a game. But overall, I would say it's quite short.
"You come here, you always know it's a tough place. That's not an excuse but they have a good home record for a reason. Again, it's not an excuse.
"You know you have to bring that extra edge when it comes to aggression, when it comes to maybe being a bit dirty. You have to earn the right to play.
"And I think today, we just didn't earn that and that's why we got punished in the end.
"It feels a bit harsh but we can't say it's undeserved."
In an honest assessment, Balogun admitted that the defeat should hurt the team's pride.
He also admitted Rangers got what they deserved out of the game.
He added: "If you look at the goal, it's a ricochet. I think, if my memory is not letting me down, they had clearer chances and that's what needs to be something that needs to hurt out pride.
"You can't come here and then go out of the game, lose it and then feel like you... if you can say you had enough clear cut chances and you let yourself down there as one, I don't think we were threatening enough over the 90 minutes. I felt like their chances were clearer.
"You have to come here with an edge, with that extra aggression and you have to match what they try to make of the game, you have to give respect to them, you have to try and match it at least and then try as much as you can to force your game onto them.
"Like I said, we didn't do that. It probably wasn't aggressive enough in decisive moments and not aggressive enough, not consistent enough over the 90 minutes."
